Privacy Policy

1. Our Apps

Every DataPingo app is built on Atlassian Forge and runs inside Atlassian's cloud. Each app acts as you, with your own Atlassian permissions, to carry out the bulk actions you ask for — such as commenting on many Jira issues or cloning Confluence pages.

• Nothing leaves Atlassian. Issue, comment, and page content is never sent to DataPingo or to any third party.
• No data is kept. If an action needs working data while it runs — files waiting to be posted, or a copy of the page being cloned — it stays in your own Atlassian site and is deleted when the action finishes. Anything left by an interrupted action expires automatically.
• DataPingo cannot see your content. Our developer logs record app activity — when an action ran, on which Atlassian site, how many items it touched, and whether it succeeded — with names, titles, and content redacted or never logged.
• No cookies. Our apps set no cookies and are not part of this website's analytics.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Marketplace Licensing Contacts

When your organisation installs, evaluates, or buys one of our apps, Atlassian's licensing reports give us the technical and billing contacts for that installation — typically name, email address, company, and the app and licence involved. We use them to send onboarding, service, and app-related emails.

2.2 What You Send Us

When you subscribe to our newsletter, use our contact form, apply to a partner programme, email us, or raise a ticket on our support portal, we keep what you send — such as your name, email address, company, and message — to respond and for record-keeping.

2.3 Email Engagement

Our emails contain a small tracking image and tracked links, so we can see whether an email was opened and which links were clicked. We use this to judge which emails are useful. Every marketing or non-transactional email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and we stop emailing that address immediately when you use it.

2.4 Business Contacts We Reach Out To

We may contact people at organisations that use Atlassian products to tell them about our apps, using professional contact details from public sources such as LinkedIn and company websites — name, job title, company, and work contact details. Every such message lets you opt out, and if you do, we will not contact you again.

2.5 Website Analytics and Advertising

With your consent, datapingo.com uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, and advertising technologies from Google (Google Ads) and OpenAI (ChatGPT Ads) to measure our advertising and show DataPingo ads to people who have visited. See section 8.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To support and improve our apps — onboarding, service, and support emails to the people who installed them.
• To answer you — replying to messages, support tickets, and partner applications.
• To tell businesses about our apps — newsletters, product updates, and outreach, always with a way to opt out.
• To understand and advertise our website — analytics and advertising, only with your consent.
• To meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we never use content from your Atlassian site for any purpose.

4. Who We Share It With

We use the service providers below to run DataPingo. They handle personal information only to provide their service to us.

Most of these providers are based in the United States. Where information about people in the UK or the European Economic Area is transferred there, we rely on the safeguards those providers offer, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses. Atlassian's own handling of your data is described in Atlassian's Privacy Policy.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights, or to respond to valid legal process.

5. Security and Retention

Our apps' security is provided by Atlassian's platform, including encryption in transit and at rest — see our Security Policy. For everything else we use reputable providers, encrypted connections, and access limited to DataPingo.

• Licensing contacts — kept while the licence relationship lasts and for up to two years after, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
• Messages, form submissions, and support tickets — kept until the matter is resolved and for up to two years after.
• Unsubscribes — we keep a record of addresses that have opted out, so we never email them again.
• Website analytics — kept in Google Analytics for no more than 14 months.

6. Your Privacy Rights

6.1 Why we are allowed to hold your information

• Legitimate interests — for licensing contacts, business outreach, and answering what you send us. Communicating with businesses about software they use, or may find useful, is a legitimate interest; installing an app is not by itself consent to be emailed, so every non-transactional message carries a one-click unsubscribe and we stop immediately when you use it.
• Consent — for the newsletter, and for website analytics and advertising cookies. You can withdraw it at any time.
• Legal obligation — where the law requires us to keep or disclose information.

6.2 What you can ask us to do

• Access — get a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Rectification — have inaccurate details corrected
• Erasure — have your details deleted
• Restriction — have us pause processing while a question is resolved
• Portability — receive your data in a portable format
• Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests, including any marketing contact, at any time and for any reason

Email contact@datapingo.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not charge for this and will not ask you to justify the request.

6.3 Complaints

If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area (the EU plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway) and believe we have handled your data improperly, you may complain to your national data protection supervisory authority. We would rather you told us first so we can put it right.

6.4 Data inside your Atlassian site

Issue, comment, and page content that our apps work with stays inside Atlassian and is controlled by you, not by us. For that data your controls are your Atlassian account and site admin settings; DataPingo cannot access it and therefore cannot export or delete it on your behalf.

7. Children's Privacy

Our services are business tools sold to organisations and are not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe we hold such information, email contact@datapingo.com and we will delete it.

8. Cookies

datapingo.com uses a consent manager, which asks your permission before any non-essential cookie is set. Nothing beyond the strictly necessary category loads until you choose.

8.1 What we use

• Strictly necessary — needed for the site to work and to remember your cookie choices. These carry no tracking and are always on.
• Measurement — Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, used in aggregate to see which pages people visit. Set only if you allow them, and you can withdraw that permission at any time.
• Marketing — advertising and measurement technologies from Google (Google Ads) and OpenAI (ChatGPT Ads). We use these to measure our advertising and to show DataPingo ads to people who have visited this site. They are set only if you allow the Marketing category, and never before.

8.2 Selling and sharing

DataPingo does not sell your personal information. We have never accepted, and do not accept, money or other value in exchange for your data, and we do not disclose personal information to data brokers.

We may share personal information for advertising. When you allow the Marketing category, Google and OpenAI may receive information about your visit, so that we can measure our advertising and show DataPingo ads to people who have been here before. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, and comparable US state privacy laws, this counts as “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising even though no money changes hands.

You can opt out at any time. Decline the Marketing category, or switch it off later in the cookie preferences panel — reachable from the Cookie Preferences link in the footer of every page. Nothing is shared for advertising unless you have allowed it.

8.3 Changing your mind

You can change or withdraw your cookie choices at any time through the consent banner's preferences panel, or by clearing cookies in your browser. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of anything done before you withdrew it.

9. Privacy Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
