Installation

Installing takes about a minute and needs a Confluence Cloud site admin, since apps are installed site-wide.

1. Open Bulk Page Cloner for Confluence on the Atlassian Marketplace, or search for it from Apps → Explore more apps inside Confluence.
2. Click Try it free and choose your Confluence Cloud site.
3. Accept the permissions it asks for: read and write Confluence pages, read spaces and labels, and app storage. Nothing else is requested — see Permissions Required for what each one does.
4. Open it from Apps in the left sidebar, from any page's ••• actions menu, or by typing /bulkpage in the editor.

Removing the app is just as clean. Uninstalling from Apps → Manage apps deletes everything it stored, and pages you already created stay in Confluence as ordinary pages.

Overview

Bulk Page Cloner is an Atlassian Forge app for Confluence Cloud that duplicates up to 25 pages from a single template in one guided flow. Each clone is an exact copy — content, formatting, images, video, macros, labels, and attachments included — ready to edit independently. A live clone summary builds as you go, and the whole app supports full light and dark mode matched to your Confluence theme.

Limits

Two numbers bound a single clone, and one that belongs to Confluence rather than the app.

Cloning costs storage, because attachments are copied too

A copy is a real duplicate, not a link to the original. Attachments come with it, which is what makes embedded video and images render on the copy instead of breaking — but it means the files are written again for every page you create. Clone a page carrying a 50 MB video 25 times and Confluence stores roughly 1.25 GB, not 50 MB.

There is no per-file size limit in the app itself. Copying is performed by Confluence’s own server-side copy operation, so whatever the source page can hold, a copy can hold too.

Open the App (3 ways)

1. Click Bulk Page Cloner for Confluence under Apps on the left side of your screen.
2. Type /bulkpage in any Confluence page and select Bulk Page Cloner for Confluence.
3. Open the ••• menu on any page and select Create Bulk Pages.

The app walks you through a four-step flow — Source, Copies, Location, Done — with a progress bar at the top. From the Copies step onward, a live clone summary shows your source, copy count, and destination, updating as you go so you can review everything before anything is created.

Step 1 — Source

Pick the one page every copy will be made from. The list is instance-wide rather than scoped to the space you happen to be in, so you can clone a template out of one space into another without leaving the app.

• Search page titles — matches across every space you have permission to read. The count above the table (“566 pages”) tells you how much is currently in scope, so you can see whether a filter is doing anything.
• Filter by space — narrow to a single space, or leave it on All Spaces. Useful when a title like “Onboarding” exists in four different spaces.
• Have a link? Paste a page URL — if the page is already open in another tab, paste its URL and skip searching entirely. This is the reliable route when several pages share a name, because a URL identifies exactly one page.

Each row shows the page title, the space it lives in and when it was modified — enough to tell two similarly named pages apart before you commit. Click Select on the row you want and the app moves straight to Step 2.

Step 2 — Copies

How many, and what each one is called. Every copy is a full duplicate of the source — content, formatting, images, video, macros, labels and attachments included.

1. Set the Number of copies by dragging the slider or typing into the box beside it. The range is 1–25 whichever way you set it; typing a bigger number snaps back to 25 rather than erroring.
2. Give each copy a title. One numbered field appears per copy, and the Continue to location button stays disabled until every field has something in it.

Naming shortcuts

Three shortcuts sit above the title fields, and it is worth knowing exactly what each does before you rely on it:

• Auto-number — rewrites every field as a numbered series: “Vacation Policy 1”, “Vacation Policy 2”, and so on. It takes the stem from the first title field if you have typed one, and falls back to the source page’s own title if you have not. It is a plain sequence — there is no date or weekday logic.
• Copy first to all — fills every field with whatever is in the first one. It does nothing if the first field is still empty.
• Clear all — empties every title field in one click, leaving the copy count alone.

Duplicate titles

Confluence requires page titles to be unique within a space. If two of your titles match, the app says so before you continue — “Some titles match. Confluence auto-numbers duplicate page titles in a space.” — and Auto-number is the one-click fix. If you go ahead anyway nothing breaks: the app de-duplicates on the way out, appending (1), (2) and so on, which is the same thing Confluence would do to you.

The clone summary

The panel on the right updates as you work, so the whole job is visible before any of it happens: the source page, how many titles you have filled in (“0 of 3 named”), the destination once you have set one in Step 3, and the count of pages that will be created. Nothing is written to Confluence until you press the button on Step 3.

Step 3 — Location

Where the copies land. The destination space does not have to be the space the source page lives in — cloning a template out of one space into another is the normal case, not an edge case.

1. Pick the destination Space.
2. Choose how the copies are organised. There are three options, and the difference is where they sit in the page tree:
   • As a child of an existing page — copies become child pages under a parent you pick. A Parent page search appears below; the parent has to already exist.
   • As parent pages in [Space] — copies sit at the space root with no parent above them. Use this when each copy is a top-level document in its own right.
   • As child pages of a new parent — the app creates one new parent page first, then files every copy underneath it. You give the parent its own title in New parent page title. This is the tidiest option for a batch that belongs together, because it leaves the space root untouched.

The clone summary now shows the full destination. When it reads correctly, click Create n pages — the button names the number, so you get one last chance to notice if it says 25 when you meant 3.

Step 4 — Done

A confirmation screen lists every created page with a direct Open link, so you can jump straight in to start editing — or clone more pages in one click.
