Release date: October 4, 2026 · Version: 3.3.0
The first release of Page Order for Confluence. Confluence adds new pages to the end of the list and moves pages one drag at a time; Page Order puts a whole list in order in one step, moves many pages at once, and lists every change before anything is saved.
New
Three ways in
- Organize Child Pages — in any page’s ••• menu, opening in a dialog on that page’s child pages.
- Page Order — in each space’s sidebar, starting at the space’s top level.
- Page Order for Confluence — under Apps: choose any space to organize, most recently updated first.
Sorting
- Sort all — A to Z, Z to A, Newest first, Oldest first (by date created) or Recently updated first (by last update), for every child page of a parent in one step.
- Sort numbers by value — 2, 9, 10 rather than 10, 2, 9.
- Sort n selected — select some pages and only those are sorted, among themselves, in the places they already held.
- Include every level below — sorts each parent beneath the one you sorted, the same way.
Selecting and dragging
- Drag across pages to select them, then drag the group to a new spot; a line shows where it will land.
- Drop pages on the middle of a page to move them inside it, or onto a page in the page tree beside the list.
- Marks on every changed row — ▲ and ▼ show how far a page moves, and Moving in marks pages arriving from elsewhere.
Move to…
- Any parent, in any space you can see — choose the space, then the page to put them under, and whether they go First or Last. Child pages move with their parent.
- Titles that clash are handled the way Confluence’s own Move handles them — when a title is already used in the other space, rename and move (as “Expenses (1)”, say) or leave that page out.
Unsaved changes and saving
- Nothing changes in Confluence until you save — every change waits in Unsaved changes, where each one opens to list its pages, × cancels a move, and Discard clears the lot.
- Up to 1,000 page moves per save, using as few moves as possible. Each new order is read back from Confluence afterwards and put right if anything landed out of place.
- Refusals caught before you save — a page with more than 1,000 items beneath it, a title already used in the other space (unless you choose to rename it), or a page that would go inside its own child page is left out, with the reason.
- Saves run as you, while your tab is open — closing the tab stops the save, and pages already moved stay moved.
Permissions and data
- Acts only as you — Confluence’s own permissions apply, so people move only the pages they could already move by hand.
- Stores nothing — no database and no background jobs, and it runs on Atlassian with nothing sent outside it. The only thing remembered is whether the page tree is shown, in your own browser.
- Light and dark, matching your Confluence theme.
